I was doing some research on the web this evening, and after a series of clicks i found this site. It's part of the Texas Department of Corrections website. it is a listing of the final statements of some of the people executed over the past few years. I read through all of the statements, and it amazed me how many of them found god, claimed innocence, refused to make statements, and apologized to the survivors of their victims. I do support the death penalty in most cases, but sometimes ...

Link I have ranted a few times about my bad experiences with the TSA. (in fact i got into it with them yesterday at the Portland airport) Showing your ID in my opinion isn't a violation of your rights, i have no problem with it whatsoever. It's all the other stuff that pisses me off. thanks for reading, thatoneguyinslc

Well folks it's Veterans Day. The day we pay homage to all who served in defense of our country. A lot of people pay little attention to this holiday, but not me. I come from a military family. My dad was a Marine officer for almost 25 years and served in both Korea and Vietnam. My Grandfather fought in the battle of Saipan in WW II. I never had the opportunity to serve. But i admire and respect those who choose to. I wish more people would as well. These folks sacrifice a lot to protect ...

According to MSNBC TV, an extremely large avalanche has fallen on The Canyons ski resort, at least one and possibly up to 15 skiers are missing. apparantly they were in an out of bounds area, and brought it down on themselves. I guess we weren't in as much danger as we thought... Link ABC news Australia's report Link Now before all you righties come unglued on me, i would like to point out that it was a bipartisan decision to go to war. No one disputes that. Our government needs to make damn sure that they actually know what's going on before declaring war. The thing that upsets me is that the real WMD menace in the region (Iran) is blatantly pursuing WMD's and we sit idly by and do nothing. We shou...

Howdy folks, This week i'm in the normally lovely city of Newport Beach, California. The rain here is INSANE!! It was dumping when i got off the plane yesterday, all day, and all night. The storm finally broke about a half hour ago, and i can finally see the ocean (the sad thing is that i'm less than a mile from it.) Mudslides, sinkholes, floods. Mother nature is back, and she's PISSED! I'm just glad i'm not at home in the SLC. That's where this rain is heading. Probably snowing right n...

I travel a lot on business. Some people think of air travel as a luxury. A fantastic voyage to places they only dream about. When I look at an airplane, I see a bus with wings. I guess it's all perspective really. Over the past week or so as the 5th anniversary of September 11th approached, more and more people have been asking me if I planned on flying on 9/11. As it so happens... I'll be boarding a flight this evening. Just like the past two years. Three years flying on that ominous d...
