Former Pantera/now Damageplan guitarist Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott was shot and killed during a show last night.

What the fuck is going on with the kids nowadays? Five dead including the shooter. The cops aren't saying who the other victims are.

my brother used to go to the place that this happened quite a bit for the concerts.....actually, that is pretty strange thinking about the fact that my brother could have been there if he still lived in Columbus, OH

Well, let's just be glad he wasn't there. I was a Pantera fan...I got to meet Dime and Phil in 1992 after a show in Salt Lake City when they were on the "Cowboys From Hell" tour.I burned a fattie with them. I only spent about 45 minutes with Dime, but he seemed like a really decent guy. The music world has lost a great talent, and a nice guy.

I hope the SOB who shot him burns in hell.

I heard today that the shooter may have been a disgruntled writer who thought Pantera had stolen some lyrics or songs from him. May have been more than just "kids being kids." Horrible, any way you cut it.

That wouldnt suprise me at all Daiwa. Another theory is that he had a grudge because Dime broke up Pantera and started Damageplan. I guess the shooter was a huge Pantera fan.
