Howdy folks,

This week i'm in the normally lovely city of Newport Beach, California. The rain here is INSANE!! It was dumping when i got off the plane yesterday, all day, and all night. The storm finally broke about a half hour ago, and i can finally see the ocean (the sad thing is that i'm less than a mile from it.) Mudslides, sinkholes, floods. Mother nature is back, and she's PISSED!

I'm just glad i'm not at home in the SLC. That's where this rain is heading. Probably snowing right now. I don't mind that so much because i'm a snowboarder... LOL

Thanks for reading,

SLC, a little advice thanks to Henry Higgins: The Rain's Insane so Remain on the Plane!

((((btw, how's SLC lately? Using your SN as a model, mine would be "thatoneguyfromKaysville" but that was a long time ago. ;~D ))))

Hope it stops raining for you while you are there. I love that area, especially the old side, Balboa, with the old boardwalk. I can relate to the rain, as I just got back last Friday from seeing friends in Dana Point, which isn't too far from where you are at.

Have a great time there, even if it is work-related.

Yikes, the picture isn't pretty for some of the areas over there in CA. Stay dry!

Thanks Thatoneguy, I have been around, just not commenting much, especially with all the venom that has been spewed on here lately, but I always read your stuff. Do you ever go over to San Juan Capistrano when you are in the Newport Beach area? I love that place also....great restaurant right across from the Mission...although I hear they are having major flooding problems there.

Varoom,
Flooding is an understatement...It's been scary up until today. Most of the landslides are in north LA county, between Glendale and the Ventura Co. line. Unfortunately my best friend lives in Calabasas and he's pretty freakin nervous right now.

I been to SJC many times, and i installed the high speed network (Guest room internet that is)at the Marriott Resort at Dana Point. I'm actually trying to wrangle me a transfer to San Diego and move to Oceanside, which is my favorite city in the US.

It's nice to know somebody besides the righties are reading my blog... thanks!

Hard to believe that when I was 12-13 years old and lived at south California, it rained only 2 times in 2 years and all at last 2 days I lived there.

I know XX, I spent a big chunk of my childhood in SD, and i did get to see a hurricane once. Pacific hurricanes are rare, and really violent.
