Sometimes i wonder...What the hell is wrong with me? I'm not a mutant. I have a good job. I'm educated. I'm a pretty compassionate guy who rarely lashes out in anger. I care about my fellow human beings. I care about leaving this world a better place than which i found it. I like to read. I like to have intelligent conversations about a lot of different things. I like to cook. I like laying in bed and listening to the rain. I like to have a drink with good friends. I like to meet new peop...

This is gonna be a rant... This is not about a current girlfriend (since i dont have one right now) This is about someone who recently came back into my life as a "friend" I used to date her about 2 years ago, it wasnt the most serious realtionship i have ever had, but i did like her and enjoyed her company. My first mistake (burn me once) was i loaned her money when she was broke. Which she never paid back. That happens to some of us at some point in our lives. I'm not poor but also n...

As i'm sure that most of you already know, Rick James died today. When i found out, i was getting off an airplane and just happened to glance over at the tv by the gate. He is best known for "superfreak" and a shitload of hit songs that he either wrote or produced. I've been playing bass for almost 20 years, and always liked his style of funk (he was a damn fine bassist) and his style is still directly influincing rock and funk music to this day. Most folks nowadays remember him for his o...

Alan Keyes is considering running against Barack Obama for Senate in Illinois. This is somewhat reminiscant of Hillary's Senate run. Isn't a little late in the game for this? I can understand it if he actually moved there months ago. Does this show how worried the GOP is of Obama getting in the Senate? (especially after his speech at the convention) Keyes still lives in MD. What i think is kinda funny is he's their back up choice after Mike Ditka said no, because he couldn't tackle an...

I was sitting here watching Imus in the Morning on MSNBC, and i heard something that really blew me away. They reported that Dick "Go f*** yourself" Cheney was in New Mexico on a campaign visit, and was making people sign a "loyalty oath" to the Republican party before they could come into a campaign rally. Don't we as american voters have the right to hear the candidates regardless of political persuasion? I will check MSNBC's site and post the link if they have a story on this I can...

Everybody has gripes about work. Anyone who says otherwise is either lying, stupid, or probably your boss. Considering the state of the industry i work in (IT) i know im lucky to have a good paying job. There's tons of people out there who can't say that. Hell i know of at least half a dozen friends with higher level certifications than i do that are working at starbucks. (Well...one in particular, but you get my point.) I feel like sometimes they just don't get it back at the home office...

I saw this on Yahoo today. I knew this months ago from my work with the Clark campaign! Every week we would have more and more of these folks come to our meetups. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=564&e=19&u=/nm/campaign_crossovers_dc Submitted for your approval, Brian

I travel constantly on business. I build networks for a company that caters to the hotel industry. I spend a lot of nights sleeping in strange beds (alone unfortunately) in strange cities. I am used to paying more for stuff in the hotel for conveniences sake rather than having to go explore an unfamiliar city late at night. I expect to get screwed a little. Then my company started doing stuff for Hilton. These guys could give the mafia lessons in extortion. I know what your thinking...You...

Well the convention just ended a few minutes ago amid pomp and circumstance, and those of us watching it on CNN got a bonus when the internal radio feed was being broadcast live during the closing moments, you could hear the director yelling "where the fuck are the balloons?!?". John Kerrys acceptance speech was a good one, Max Cleland's speech was even better, and i really enjoyed John Kerry daughter telling the story of him giving the drowned hamster CPR. Overall i think the convention w...

There have been many posts in the blogs today concerning the now famous debate between Michael "butterball" Moore and Bill "sieg heil!" O'Reilly. I watched the so called "debate" between the two of them and came to the conclusion that neither of them won. Moore made one point that i agree with. I do agree that in the end it was Bush that made the mistake of getting us into the quagmire that is the war in Iraq. I totally disagreed with him when he tried to turn it by saying that Bush shoul...
