Life behind the zion curtain, politics, music, IT, things that go fast, tasteless humor, and everything anti-bush.
Howdy folks,

Iconoclast's article about the 25th anniversary of Peter Sellars death got me thinking about my favorite movies. Which led me to wonder what my fellow JUsers were into.

Here's my list.

1. Dr. Strangelove - Peter Sellars greatest movie
2. Patton - Good old George C. Scott.
3. Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Kevin Spacey and John Cusack were perfect for this film.
4. A Clockwork Orange - The movie that made Malcom McDowell. One of Stanley's best
5. JFK - Oliver Stone knows how to stir the hornets nest.
6. Crash - Unbelievably real.
7. Platoon - The movie that made me realize that Willem Dafoe is a great actor.
8. Full Metal Jacket.-Two words...Lee f**king Ermey!
9. El Dorado - The Duke, Bob Mitchum, James Caan, and Walter Brennan. One of the best westerns ever made. The duke actually made this movie twice.
10. LA Confidential - Russell Crowe steals the show. I had no idea he was an Aussie because his american accent is almost perfect.

Now it's your turn folks. Fire away!

Thanks for reading,

Number 1 movie is Ken Burns" The Civil War"

I liked that one but the fat that it seems to be as long as the *actual* Civil War was something of a turn off...

Picking only 10 movies is very hard. There are so many movies I love. I have hundreds of favorites. So what I did was try to limit my picks. I went with only one movie per director. Even that was hard choosing. Then I tried to cover as many genres as possible. And to make matters worse, I tried to grab at least one from every decade starting in the 30s. So here is my list of 10 of many favorite films of mine, listed by year.btw .. I cheated on one pick so it's really 11 movies:)

1. Duck Soup (1933)
2. Citizen Kane (1941)
3. Casablanca (1942)
4. On the Waterfront (1954)
