This is exactly why I am against the death penality. after you kill someone in a death chamber ya just cannot go oops sorry about that.

Yep. I agree Mod. But for the record, i am pro death penalty.

I just think Texas is wayyyy too eager to sentence people to death to the point that death row is so full they have to "fast track" the executions. And the system is obviously far from perfect.

Well, I'm all for the death penalty, but I think it is reached for as an option far too often and ever so easily. This is a great example why.

Death by Oops, not a good track record.

Yep Mod, i am.

I used to be against it. But a childhood friend was murdered THEN raped by a serial killer named Arthur Gary Bishop. My only regret is that he chose the needle instead of the firing squad. (we have that in Utah)

Thanks Ted. I've been busy battling the forces of evil....Uhm i mean the usual.

So in other words your friend suffered and the murderer got a nice, easy painless death. Doesn't exactly sound like justice to me.

The idea of an innocent person being sentenced to death sickens me.

agreed..... and you can be sure many innocent men have went to their state sponsered deaths knowing they are innocent and powerless to do anything but be murdered.
on Apr 20, 2005
Actually Toberlone, knowing he was beaten and raped by another inmate is what made it feel like justice.

I understand why some people do not support the death penalty. I wish we lived in a world that it wasn't needed. But as long as we do need to use it, there has to be a better way of making sure that what happened in Texas (and for that fact in other states as well) never happens again.

That's my point. Nothing else.

That makes 2 conservatives against, one liberal for.

Damn, I was just kidding when I said the world was ending!  Guess it really is!

Abolish the death penalty now! An innocent man put to death while arrogant black robe monsters' disregard newly discovered evidence casting considerable doubt on guilt sickens the soul. But it's tough, as I understand how some crimes just call out for a miscreant's death. Today, for example, I read how that poor girl, Jessica, here in Florida, died- buried alive by that scumbuket. Who could blame her poppa were he to pull a pistol and kill the SOB in court. Were I sitting on a jury, I wouldn't convict him. Irrespective of the defense relied on- extreme emotional distress, temporary insanity, etc., I would exercise my God given right to nullify any criminal liability.

That's one MODERATE and to conservatives guys. I'm no liberal.
