Hey folks,

I'm going to start posting my digicam pics from the road in my blog. The first city is our nation's capital. Enjoy!

This is from my favorite, The Korean War Memorial. I think the pic says it all.

Very haunting statues.

The Lincoln Memorial and it's reflecting pool

Walking on the path, National Mall

The Washington Monument from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial

Abe Lincoln. Nuff said!

Statue at the Vietnam Memorial. Also very haunting.

Vietnam Nurses Memorial

The White House. I was giving bush 2.1 the finger when i took this one..

Fountain at the WWII Monument.

That's all for now. Hope you enjoyed 'em.

Thanks for reading,

Very haunting statues.

This pic reminds me of those people who paint themselves grey/silver and become statues they'll stand in the one pose for like an hour before they change it's amazing.

Geez...That's the water pump in Harvard Yard...And i was plastered at the time!

Why Dharma....You flatterer you!

TasT, the statues at the Korean Memorial are spooky. They have this look in their eyes that make them look alive.

You reminded me of being in DC on a family holiday about 12 years ago. I was 12 myself, it was about 100 degrees and 99% humidity so my siblings and I decided it would be an idea to have an ice fight on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial (we're Australian - we'll disrespect anything!) That was until we clean hit a tour guide in the back of the head with a huge chunk of ice, who then proceeded to chase us, shouting expletives.

And that's my favourite memory of Washington. I hope you're having a blast!

Great pictures thatoneguy! Those statues really capture an eerie, tangible feeling to them. Since we really aren't that far from DC (a lot closer than we used to be!!!) we are planning on getting up there sometime soon. Those pics just make me want to speed that up! Thanks for sharing them.

I know what you mean Doc. I hate DC, but i love to go check out the historical stuff. I could spend a month in the national archives alone. Don't even get me started about the Smithsonian air & space museum.

Oh god...I'm such a nerd!
