Might wanna wait until you know he sent the letters.

"Lawyers for a death row inmate, including former Whitewater independent counsel Kenneth Starr, sent fake letters from jurors asking California’s governor to spare the man’s life, prosecutors said Friday."

The investigator may have fabricated it, another lawyer might have coordinated it, and you don't know how much Starr was even involved in the day-to-day running of the case. I'm not saying he didn't, but don't you think you are kind of emulating the political witch hunt thing that Starr is often accused of? Lawyers at the level of Ken Starr usually have people that do this junk for them and they just show up in court.

You know, like Presidents that are just there for the fun and have their cronies get the gal and job and smooth it all over. These are lawyers, you expect... what?

I would wager that he knew what was going on Baker.

I agree with Guy.

I'm not putting it past him, either. Like I said, he's a lawyer, would you expect better? The fact remains that he is also a prima donna lawyer that probably does little more than show up and cash checks and pay people to do everything else.

I understand your point Baker, and i agree with it to a certain extent. But the fact of the matter is that Kenny has resorted to some pretty sleazy tactics in the past. I am not suprised in the least that his name has come up in this mess.

...and you think there is a difference between Dem and Rep lawyers in that area? Given you have touched on Clinton, you could start waaay before Starr if you wanna talk legal sleeze. Anyway, it isn't like Starr or any other big name lawyer is really led by political affiliation. I'd say if you waggled enough fame and money in Starr's face he'd be right in there trying to impeach Bush.

I seriously doubt he would go after dubya, seeing that he is a major force in the California Repuiblican Party.

Also, Pepperdine is a notoriously rightie programming facility. They would have his head on a stick before he could get into the building. ::

I think you are placing "Republican" too high on the list of identity. To me, it is Lawyer - Republican - Human, in that order.

Sure, he might be more devoted to Republicanism than humanity, but I doubt seriously anything could mellow whatever is wrong with someone when they become a lawyer. The only truly good lawyers I have ever known are the failed ones. Someone like Starr? Pfft.

That's good... Very good.

I agree with you here Baker. It's like the old joke.

"What do you call a busload of lawyers going off a cliff...A good start!"

But alas, Starr has proven where his allegiances lie. The GOP.

A party who would, in the words of Samuel L. Jackson in "Pulp Fiction, "Strike down with great vengance and furious anger any attempt to poison, or destroy my brother".

While you find it amusing that conservatives continue to bring up Billy boy, we can then turn it around and wonder why you still have a vendetta for kenny boy.

Q. What's the difference between a catfish and a lawyer?
A. One is a bottom-dwelling scum-sucker. The other is a fish.
